Child and Youth Counsellor I, Safe Haven
Summary
Starling Community Services is seeking casual Child and Youth Counsellors for its Safe Haven program. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising, monitoring, supporting, and counseling clients. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate safe, goal-oriented programs, supporting the implementation of evidence-informed practices like the Housing First Model. To qualify, candidates must have a diploma or degree in child and youth work or a related field, along with at least one year of experience as a Child and Youth Worker or equivalent. The position requires the ability to design and implement recreational and group programming, strong communication skills, and resiliency under stress. Applicants must also hold current C.I.T. (or equivalent), First Aid/CPR certification, and a valid Class 'G' driver's license.
