Roads Maintainer
Summary
The Region of Waterloo is seeking a Roads Maintainer for a temporary full-time, 5-month contract position. This role involves performing general roads maintenance on regional roads, bridges, and roadsides, including winter snow and ice control and summer maintenance. Responsibilities include operating various trucks and equipment, performing minor repairs, cutting grass, removing graffiti, installing culverts, and assisting with road construction surveys. The position requires a valid Class D driver's license with a Z endorsement, a good driving record, and the ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as participate in an on-call rotation. Candidates must possess functional knowledge of road building requirements and equipment operation, acquired through at least two years of related experience, and have basic writing and arithmetic skills, typically obtained through a Grade 12 education.
