Licensed Technician 1-310T / 310S

Summary

The City of Kitchener is seeking a Licensed Technician with 310T, 310S, and/or 421A certifications to join their award-winning Fleet team. This role involves the maintenance, repair, registration, acquisition, and disposal of over 1500 fleet vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities also include training, legislative requirements around vehicle licensing, vehicle and equipment inspections, and Commercial Vehicle Operator Registration (CVOR). The position requires a minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, at least 3 years of experience in motive power repair, fabrication, and operation, and mechanical aptitude. Candidates must possess a valid MTO Class DZ license or be able to obtain one within 6 months of hire, along with the relevant Certificate of Qualification from the Ontario College of Trades. The role also requires the technician to possess their own hand tools, be available for different shifts and on-call duties, and demonstrate reliability and a good employment record. Overtime hours are available.
