Educational Assistant
Summary
The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant for Sacred Heart School in Paris. This is a permanent, part-time position working 17.5 hours per week for 10 months of the year (0.5 FTE), starting September 2, 2026. The role involves assisting teachers in delivering programs for special needs students, including aiding with transitions, creating educational materials, implementing Individualized Education Plans, observing and reporting on student development, and assisting with behavior management. The Educational Assistant will also support students with personal care needs such as toileting and feeding, maintain classroom routines, and participate in general classroom tasks and supervision. A post-secondary educational assistant program or equivalent, along with one year of experience working with children, is required. Additional training, the ability to perform physical tasks, a positive attitude, discretion with confidential information, independent work within a team, and basic computer skills are also necessary.
