Manager, Patient Care and Service Delivery

Summary

The University of Guelph's Health Sciences Centre is seeking a Manager, Patient Care and Service Delivery (PCSD) to oversee a team of veterinary technicians, hospital assistants, and animal care attendants. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Hospital Operations and is responsible for ensuring a positive patient and client experience from admission to discharge. The Manager, PCSD will supervise services for the Companion Animal Hospital, Animal Cancer Centre, and Large Animal Hospital, taking a strategic approach to resource utilization in a 24/7 operational environment to meet fiscal targets while maintaining a safe, efficient hospital, teaching, and research setting. Key responsibilities include leading and developing a diverse team, managing recruitment, hiring, training, and performance. The role involves staff scheduling to align with service demands, cross-training staff, and contributing to budget formulation and cost recovery. The position also focuses on identifying and implementing process efficiencies to enhance client service, patient care, and the teaching experience, while managing costs and revenue.
