Summary
The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Personal Support Worker (PSW) for their Telemetry/Integrated Stroke Unit/Medicine/Complex Continuing Care department in Stratford, Ontario. As a member of the inter-professional team, the PSW will provide direct, quality, and safe personal care under the supervision of regulated healthcare providers, following patient care plans. Key responsibilities include assisting patients with daily living activities (ADLs), transfers, ambulation, taking vital signs, performing skin assessments, and reporting any patient difficulties with eating or swallowing. The role requires a minimum grade 12 education, a Personal Support Worker certificate from an accredited Ontario college, and current BLS certification. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to a changing environment. Recent hospital experience is preferred.
