External Engagement Specialist

Summary

The University of Guelph is seeking an External Engagement Specialist to join the Gordon S Lang School of Business and Economics. Reporting to the Manager, External Engagement, this role is responsible for the development, planning, and execution of external-focused events, including recruitment, community, donor, and alumni events. The Specialist will ensure event quality aligns with the LANG mission, assist other academic units with events, and represent the School at campus-wide events. Key duties include working with the Manager and leadership team on strategic events, collaborating with marketing and communications, supervising support staff and vendors, and serving as the primary contact for attendees such as faculty, staff, students, corporate partners, alumni, guest speakers, and donors. This position requires strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
