Heavy Equipment Operator and Labourer

Summary

The Township of East Garafraxa is seeking a Seasonal Heavy Equipment Operator and Labourer for its Public Works department. This role is primarily focused on winter road maintenance, including plowing, cleaning, and ensuring roads meet legislated standards. Responsibilities also involve loading sand and salt, inspecting road conditions, maintaining ditches and culverts, clearing vegetation, and responding to emergency calls. The position requires scheduled shifts outside of regular hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as well as on-call duties. Candidates must possess a Grade 12 Diploma, an Ontario DZ License with a clean abstract, and a minimum of two years' experience operating a 13-speed manual transmission tandem truck.
