Summary
Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Child & Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry Unit (CAIP). This temporary part-time position is located at WRHN @ Midtown and is expected to last until approximately January 2028. The successful candidate will collaborate with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment, group facilitation, and discharge planning for children and adolescents. Responsibilities also include charge nurse duties and ensuring a safe environment. Key requirements include current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, 1-3 years of recent mental health nursing experience, and strong knowledge of child and adolescent mental health resources and disorders. A BScN, Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing certification (or willingness to obtain), and experience with complex mental health issues in children and adolescents are preferred. The role also requires knowledge of relevant legislation, effective multidisciplinary collaboration, and current experience with psychotropic medication administration. CPR certification is mandatory.
